The Art of Two
Ivica Čačić
No matter the subject, genre, or technique, my photography seeks to express my inner visions by capturing fleeting moments of life and turning them into lasting images.
Saša Poldan
Saša Poldan was born in 1965 in Rijeka. Since 1989, he has built a career in the judiciary, and since 1992 he has been a lawyer in Rijeka and Zagreb. He considers his profession perfect. He enjoys photography as a hobby, which is a significant motivation for his many travels.
He has been involved in photography since the age of twelve but returned to it intensively in 2004 when he discovered new perspectives in digital photography. While he eagerly embraces all innovations and technological possibilities, he doesn’t abandon the exploration of history, experimenting at one point with platinum printing.
He loves experimenting with the abstract in nature, and aerial photography offers him new possibilities in this regard. He sees experimentation and exploration as sources of inspiration. He believes in striving for professional standards in everything, including amateur photography. The advantage of amateur photography is that the amateur can pursue photography exactly as they wish, free from the demands of third parties and the market, allowing full independence in ideas and intentions. The downside, however, is that due to his profession, he usually doesn’t find as much time for exploration as he would like—independence is never simple.
Through years of contemplating photography and exploring, as well as actively following contemporary developments in artistic photography, he has partially redefined his approach to the medium, while always remaining true to experimentation. He believes that one should strive for the positive and beautiful, but not by pandering, rather by provoking.
His photographs can be found in the collection of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka, as well as in private collections.
